Big Data ⇒ Big Ideas:
Unlocking Autism Trends Don't miss this exciting opportunity to hear from our faculty about the ground-breaking research being done at Columbia! Join Columbia Engineering, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the Columbia Alumni Association for a special presentation on the intersection of big data and autism research. The event will be hosted at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Professor Peter Bearman, Jonathan R. Cole Professor of Sociology at Columbia, will present his findings on how big data can help unlock the underlying trends in the occurrence of autism in California. The evening will also feature an introduction by Columbia Engineering Professor Kathy McKeown, director of the Institute for Data Sciences & Engineering, who will speak about the exciting new Center and its impact on Columbia and society.
